The OSU Extension service provides free classes to the public on permaculture, farming, well water managment, tree & garden maintenance, and more.

Lost Valley Education Center

We take a holistic approach to sustainability education, engaging students in ecological, social, and personal growth. Lost Valley is also a community land trust and intentional community that provides affordable housing and access to land for ecological living and rural community development.

Lane County Free Community Compost

The program provides up to 5,000 tons of free compost to Lane County residents and agricultural producers and hosts four Free Compost Day events each year (8 events total).

Graywater Action

An information-rich site that includes information on graywater reuse, rainwater harvesting, and composting toilets, with online and in-person graywater courses.

The Eugene Permaculture Guild

We started this group to discuss permaculture techniques and learn from one another, with Mike's previous farm being used as testing places and local land being transformed into edible landscapes that are low-maintenance and for public usage. We have had members host meetups and have connected with local efforts implementing urban farms. We are looking to expand our projects to public land with the help of a group who is interested in learning while doing.

Eugene Backyard Farmer

Much more than a garden center, EBF has everything for urban farming: chickens, bees, veggie and pollinator gardens, feed, tools, amendments, coops, hives and more.

Grady Rain Barrels

GradyBarrels offers a full scope of products and services for your above ground water storage and rain harvesting goals. Custom installation may include irrigation, fire prevention and/or stormwater management.

Agrarian Sharing Network

The Agrarian Sharing Network is an all-volunteer community promoting friendship and ecological resilience throughout the Pacific Northwest, by supporting the birth and maintenance of a network of neighborhood-based initiatives focused on long-term food security.

City of Eugene Community Gardens

These gardens are a hub of connection and activity that offer many benefits to the community. They provide an abundance of healthy and nutritious food, support access to outdoor space, create social networks, and facilitate stewardship of public land. From $25-$100/year.

Campbell Woodshop

The Campbell Woodshop is available to adults in the community to use for projects for only $4 a day, and is open Monday through Friday 9am – 3pm. Classes also offered through the Rec Guide.

Suburban Homecraft

If you want to learn how to live well without needing a lot of money, we want to help you! We can teach you how to get food from the ground to the table (or from a local farm to the table), how to preserve fresh foods to eat during the winter, how to make cheese and soap, even how to raise poultry for eggs and/or meat.
